Final Animation

This is the final animation for Digital Skills, I have edited all of the sound and the clips, I thought it was appropriate to add the soundtrack of Super Mario during the animation. I also added a snippet from the Queen song 'We are the champions'. I tried to include some sound effects too in order to make the animation even more better, I tested the animation without any sound effects and just music as I was contemplating using just a soundtrack, however It was much better that I used sound effects along with it. Overall I am quite pleased with the final outcome of my animation.

DVD Case Cover design

This is my design for the DVD case for the Digital Skills animation. I used a template I found on the internet to make this, however I had to change the dimensions after I measured a DVD case. Included on the case are the 3 characters included in the animation, The name of the unit my student number and my partner for the unit. I also included images from the animation on the back page of the case.

DVD Label Design

This is my design for the DVD label. I wanted to include at least 2 of the characters and the checkered background along with the details of my student number, who the animation is based on and who made it. I also made sure that I kept the 'Katie Kart' title from the opening scene.

Title Scene

This is the title or opening scene that I made for the animation, stating who my model/partner is and who animated the film. I wanted to use the idea of a video game in a television and the title page of a video game before it starts up. I was quite keen on this style, I wanted to make each character zoom past the screen, I had some trouble with the layers and had to alter the opacity of the characters because of this as moving the layers which were causing me trouble would only get in the way of other important layers. I used the same font as the actual title for 'Mario Kart' by cutting some of the letters out from what was already present, I then made the 'E' in Katie myself by using parts of the existing letters.

Final Podium Scene

In this scene, I wanted to have the 3 racers lined up in order of their places, I wanted Katie to be the winner and to lift a trophy and the other two characters would be crying, I found that making the character cry was quite challenging and I am not overly pleased with the outcome, however I like the way the trophy is lifted. I have again tried to include one of Katie sayings in with some animated text, as it just slots in at the side with a rotation.

Underwater scene

The scene between the tunnel and the beach scene, the race leads to under the sea and as Katie likes Disney, I wanted to add a small Disney reference with the inclusion of Katie pulling the sword out of the stone. Once again I tried to clear the fish from the scene.

Finish Line Scene

This is the scene where Katie crosses the finish line and wins the race, I tried to make sure that it was a close finish whilst also emphasizing a trialing character whilst keeping in the timescale for the particular scene. Again I used the same background movement of the sea waves and the sky.
